Autism: Evaluation & Management Approach

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a common neuro-developmental disorder with reported global prevalence of about 1 in 100 children. Primary care providers should be familiar with the diagnostic criteria for ASD, appropriate etiologic evaluation, and co-occurring medical and behavioral conditions that affect the child's function and quality of life.
