An Approach to a Pregnant Woman with Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is a common chronic disease in pregnancy contributing to peri-natal mortality and morbidity. It is therefore important to raise awareness of the associated health risks, immediate complications and long term health outcomes to the mother, the growing fetus, and the future child. This lesson will outline the assessment and management of women who present with diabetes during pregnancy. 2 CPD point has been allocated.
